Solange Knowles shares her excitement as she becomes the first black woman to compose music for the New York City Ballet

Now we already know that the Knowles family is no stranger when it comes to breaking down barriers, and solange knowles She is no different as she adds yet another accomplishment to her resume.

On Tuesday, Solange shared his excitement as he celebrated his achievement of creating an original score for the New York City Ballet. She shared that the show, which can be viewed at Lincoln Center, will be shown in October, as well as in May of next year.

According to NBC News, Solo’s creation for the Fall Fashion Gala, making her the first black woman to score for a production. The production, which is also celebrating its 10th anniversary, will also honor actress Sarah Jessica Parker, who serves as the ballet’s vice president.

Solange’s mother Tina Lawson also shared how proud she is of her youngest daughter, adding,

“She is always looking and opening doors to other artists of color! Performing art at the most prestigious museums like The Guggenheim, Moka, The Getty, Venice Biennale and The Elbphilharmonie Hamburg Germany. Prestigious Chinati at the Marfa Texas Art Festival Foundation. Many installations in museums in Europe. Now she has written and produced the most beautiful musical piece for the New York Ballet.”
