The “Cranes in the Sky” singer has been tapped at the New York City Ballet to create an original score for an upcoming ballet production.

This would be the first time a black woman and the second woman to score for a New York City Ballet production.

As the New York Times reports, a chamber ensemble will showcase the composition. The production will premiere on September 28 at the New York City Ballet’s annual Fashion Gala.
