Seahawks Elevate CB Xavier Crawford From Practice Squad, Downgrade Justin Coleman & Joey Blount To Out – Seahawks.com

Seahawks.com Senior Reporter
The Seahawks added depth at cornerback ahead of their trip to the Bay Area, elevating cornerback Xavier Crawford off of the practice squad.
The move gives Seattle extra corner depth with Justin Coleman, who injured his calf in practice during the week, being downgraded from questionable to out, and with Artie Burns (groin) listed as questionable. The Seahawks also downgraded rookie safety Joey Blount from doubtful to out.
Crawford, a sixth-round pick out of Central Michigan in the 2019 draft, has appeared in 21 games with two starts in his career, with most of his playing time coming last year in Chicago when he played in 13 games with two starts. In Chicago, Crawford played for then Bears defensive coordinator Sean Desai, who is now Seattle’s associate head coach-defense.
Coleman served as Seattle’s nickel corner last week, meaning they’ll need to fill that role. Rookie Coby Bryant would be the most likely candidate to fill in there, having backed up Coleman in that role in recent weeks.
