Meek Mill Explains Why He’s Splitting Up With Rock Nation Management

Monday’s news broke that the rapper is leaving the label that has overseen his career since 2012.

Several outlets speculated that the split resulted from a Philippdehia native expressing his frustration on Twitter about the rollout of his final album earlier this year.

However, Meek clarified those assumptions, saying that all is well between him and The Rock and that he is moving on to “take the risk and grow” from his management deal.

“What I saw today was humbling and different,” he tweeted. “I’m personally handling my own business so I can take risks and grow..we’ve come to that deal together..I’ve done a label deal with roc for my artist and I Improved with him and made many other investments with Jigga.” he explained.

The Dreamchasers founder also shared that his prior tweet about his album was aimed at Atlantic, not Rock Nation or MMG.

He clarified his February tweet, saying, “And Rock Nation is my family, for the purpose of The Atlantic not to mix my post with Rock or MMG.” “…they ain’t stopping nothing i’m doing we made about 100m together des mics and hov saved my life b4 and put a lot of energy into it i’m not behind my favors in life i’m my people I’m fine with you.”
