A 5-year-old girl was expelled from her primary school because her parents are a homosexual couple.
Zoey Parker was set to attend Bible Baptist Academy in Dequincy, LA, but two days before classes began, the school spoke with her parents, Emily and Jennifer Parker, of local NBC affiliate KPLC. informed of,
“We were called to the principal’s office for a meeting, they informed us that Zoey would no longer be able to attend school there due to our lifestyle choices,” Jennifer Parker told the station. “She lost her father, she lost her mother and now she is losing her school which she loves dearly.”
Emily, Zoey’s biological aunt, and Jennifer officially adopted Zoey earlier this year following the death of her father. Zoey attended Bible Baptist Academy last year for preschool.
Emily Parker said she ended the meeting with school officials early.
“I’m like, ‘I see where this is going. You don’t need to say anymore. We’re about to move out. I appreciate your honesty, and I’m glad you didn’t my daughter will teach,” she said Lafayette CBS Affiliate KLFY,
Parkers shared her story on social media and received a shower of support. On Wednesday, Zoey attended Hamilton Christian School in Lake Charles.
“I want to thank my friends, family and all the countless angry strangers,” Emily wrote on facebook, “They were not standing behind us, they were standing in front of us. They fought with and for our little girl. He is the real MVP. Our society has not allowed this injustice to diminish. I am humble.”
