Houston Astros starter Justin Verlander Dominates even at the age of 39.

Not only is he posting elite numbers, but he is also doing so against the strongest possible competition.

His last two starts came against teams from New York: the Yankees last week and the Mets on Wednesday.

He allowed only one earned run in two outings, which came against the Bombers.

New York fans have probably had enough Verlander for a while.

“Maybe they’re having a party all over New York today looking at Houston.” #astros Ace Justin Verlander leave town. Verlander was dominant #yankeesand then #mates During his journey against two of the best teams in baseball: 0.60 ERAs, 15 innings, 6 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, 9 strikes,” tweeted USA TODAY’s Bob Nightingale.

Dominate against elite opposition

The 0.60 ERA in 15 frames against the Mets and Yankees offenses is hugely impressive: The Astros can be happy to know they have a pitcher on their roster who is perfectly capable of dominating excellent hitters. Francis Lindo, Pete Alonso, Aaron Judge, starling mart, Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Rizzoand many more.

For the year, Verlander has an incredible 10-3 record and an excellent 2.03 ERA in 15 starts, including 97.1 innings.

His WHIP is at 0.97, and he has 90 strikes and 0.83 WHIP after Wednesday’s Gems.

He kept the Mets off the scoreboard for eight innings today, with six strikeouts to add to their tally.

After missing all campaigns for 2020 and 2021, Verlander is showing no signs of slowing down at around 40.

It wouldn’t be crazy to see him stay in the league for at least two or three more years while pitching like this..

He is a special pitcher, and should be recognized and celebrated.
