He was strong last September, but had a tough season otherwise (.615 ops and a few minor league stints).
Since he was brilliant in the final month, many fans (and the Mariners’ front office) believed he had things figured out, but he came out struggling right out of the gate in 2022.
He was sent down in the first half after a long fall.
He has .903 OPS in Triple-A this season, but only .463 in Biggs.
Called again to the big companies in the last few days, he needs a big confidence booster to move forward.
Thankfully he had one on Wednesday afternoon.
“Jared Kelenick Goes Deep! Mariners Have Scored Three Home Runs” gerrit cole To make it 6-0 in the first inning!” Talkin’ Baseball tweeted Wednesday afternoon.

Kellenic needs confidence to be successful
Indeed, he ambushed Cole in the first frame of today’s game.
Kellenic was responsible for two of the runs that hit right field with his big blast.
Cole knew the ball had gone off the bat, as he turned and in despair rested his hands on his feet.
It was Kellenick’s fourth home run of the season in MLB.
However, even after the explosion, his Ops is still extremely disappointing. 510.
He’s hitting .135/.208/.302.
If he can manage to repeat his Triple-A success in a stretch run for the Mariners, his rest of the season (and playoff) outlook will be much brighter.
He is still a big part of their future.
