One former NFL MVP thinks he has something left in the tank and he recently stated his desire to join the Buffalo Bills.
Adrian Peterson, 37, was recently interviewed by TMZ and asked if he hoped to continue his NFL career in 2022. The 7-time All-Pro stated he plans on continuing to play this season and hoped to join a team where he could potentially win a Super Bowl. He named the Buffalo Bills among three teams he would be most interested in joining.
“There’s a couple teams out there,” Peterson told TMZ in regards to his wish list. “Buffalo Bills… They’re a good team. The Rams, I don’t know what need they’ll have at running back. San Fran would be a good look.”
Peterson’s best days are clearly behind him after rushing for just 98 yards and two scores last season in stints with the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks, but he was realistic about having to wait for injuries to potentially occur before he receives a call.
“I think close to the middle of the season teams will start looking for players they might need,” the back added.
Stranger things have certainly happened in the league, but Peterson joining Buffalo’s roster seems unlikely.
The team already has three quality backs on their roster in Devin Singletary, Zack Moss and rookie James Cook. In addition to that trio of backs, the Bills also have Duke Johnson and Raheem Blackshear on their practice squad.
