john soto Now officially the San Diego Padres.
Yesterday was the trading deadline day, and one of the first moves of the day was the Soto trade.
The Padres are now loaded and ready to take a shot at the World Series title, and the Nationals have basically nothing left.
On Twitter, the Nationals posted a very awkward farewell tweet, a photo of Soto walking into the clubhouse with the 2019 World Series Champions logo above him and a caption that read “Forever.”

National bid farewell … Sort
It is interesting that the team voluntarily traded Soto, but are now posting this tweet which essentially says that he will always be a national at heart.
While this is a good gesture and true that he will always hold a special place in their hearts, it was the citizens who were unable to sign him for a contract extension, preventing him from renting a private flight to Los Angeles. refused. Star Game, and eventually traded it.
To be fair, it was actually the work of the front office, not the people running the National Twitter account, but they’re all connected in some way or another, and it’s a weird farewell message.
What could be better than posting a genuine message thanking him for all the great times he had during his tenure as the Washington National.
That would probably make a lot more sense.
But he chose to go with it instead, which is a bit strange.
At least Soto posted another heartfelt goodbye to the Nationals and his fans.
