it didn’t take long Brandon Drury To get used to your new team.
Drew was traded San Diego Padres from the Cincinnati Reds ahead of Tuesday’s deadline and made his Padres debut with the Colorado Rockies in the city last night.
Drury came in with the bases loaded to the plate and the Padres were 1-0 up. Chad Kuhli,
On Kuhl’s first pitch, Durie hit a Grand Slam, achieving the rare feat of hitting a Grand Slam on the first pitch he had seen with his new team.
According to Sarah Langes of MLB.com on Twitter, Drew is just the third player since 1900 to hit a Grand Slam in his first plate appearance with his new team after being traded mid-season.
Grand Slam in 1 PA with team *after changing teams in midseason*, since 1900:
Brandon Drury, Today, Padres
Rip Repulsky, 5/10/1960, Red Sox

Drury makes history
Durie certainly made a statement with his new team in his first at-bat.
Just one pitch and he hit it for a Grand Slam, which set the pace as the Padres blew the Rockies 9-1.
Not many players can say that they hit a Grand Slam in their first at-bat with their new team, especially after being traded mid-season, let alone doing so on the first pitch.
But such has been the weather of Dury.
The 29-year-old is hitting with 275, 21 homers, 63 RBI and a .864 OPS.
He is now on a very elite list of players who have been able to hit a Grand Slam in their debut with a new team.
Didn’t expect too much from Drew this year, but he turned it on at the right time and has had a tremendous season.
