With the NFL expanding to 17 games last season, NFC teams, the Seahawks included, will get nine home games this season after the AFC enjoyed that advantage a year ago, while NFC teams will play two of three preseason games on the road in 2022.
Looking to bounce back from their first losing record in a decade, the Seahawks will open the season hosting the Broncos on Monday Night Football on September 12, a game that will feature Russell Wilson’s return to Lumen Field after joining the Broncos in a trade this offseason.
The Seahawks then travel to the Bay Area in Week 2 to face the 49ers, kicking off a stretch of three road games in four weeks. After returning home to host the Falcons in Week 3, the Seahawks will play back-to-back 10 a.m. PT games, playing at Detroit in Week 4 and at New Orleans in Week 5. The Seahawks will look to continue their success in early games, having gone 21-7 in games kicking off at 10 a.m. PT dating back to 2013, including wins in 13 of their last 14 early games dating back to 2018.
The Seahawks return home in Week 6 to host the Arizona Cardinals, then make their first of two trips to Los Angeles for a Week 7 game against the Chargers. The New York Giants come to town in Week 8, then the Seahawks head to Arizona in Week 9 to face the Cardinals for the second time in four games.
In Week 10, the Seahawks will make the long trip to Munich to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first NFL regular-season game in Germany. That game will kick off at 6:30 a.m. PT and air on the NFL Network.
After a Week 11 bye, the Seahawks will host the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 12, their first of five homes games in the final seven weeks of the season. The Seahawks will head back to L.A. in Week 13 to face the Rams, and much like the opener against the Broncos, this game will feature some extra intrigue with the Seahawks facing another franchise legend, linebacker Bobby Wagner, who signed with the Rams as a free agent after being released by the Seahawks in March.
Week 14 will see the Seahawks host the Panthers, marking the 11th meeting between the teams since the 2010 season, playoffs included. The Seahawks will host the 49ers in Week 12 on Thursday Night Football, their second prime-time game of the regular season, then travel to Kansas City for a Week 13 game that will be played at 10 a.m. PT on Saturday, December 24.
Following that Christmas Eve game, the Seahawks will close out the regular season with back-to-back home games, hosting the New York Jets on New Year’s Day, followed by a regular-season finale against the defending Super Bowl champion Rams. That game will be played on either Saturday, January 7 or Sunday, January 8.
As for the preseason, things look a bit different this year with the Seahawks facing the AFC West in the regular season. Rather than facing AFC West teams in the preseason, as they usually do, the Seahawks will open preseason play with a trip to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers on August 13, a game that will kick off at 4 p.m. PT and air on KING 5. Seattle will host the Chicago Bears in Week 2 of the preseason on August 18, a 5 p.m. game that will air on ESPN, then close out their preseason with a trip to Dallas at a yet-to-be-determined date.
