2 shot dead in bus at West Garfield Park, say police

Two people were shot, one dead, on a bus in West Garfield Park on Sunday, officials said.

According to a notification from the Chicago Police Department, at around 1:17 p.m., two men with firearms broke into a bus in the 300 block of South Pulaski Road. Police did not say what type of bus it was.

Police said the two went to the back of the bus and opened fire on two people. After this, both the shooters left the bus and fled towards the east.

Police said a man, whose age was not disclosed, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital after being shot in the head and later died. A 24-year-old man had head injuries, but refused to seek medical attention at the scene.

Area 4 detectives are investigating.
